
Lingling has been described as...fantastic, rich and strong; a voice with force and dramatic quality...great acting that connects the voice with the character impressively.
Lingling was a winner in the 7th Gerda Lisser Foundation International Voice Competition in New York. As one of the twelve singers selected from eight major cities around the world, Lingling was invited to compete in the 3rd Monte-Carlo Voice Masters International Competition in May 2005.
She performed the roles of Tigrana in Puccini's opera Edgar and Musetta in Leoncavallo's La Boheme, Martha in Iolanta in 2006. Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) has been her signature role. Other roles included Gypsy Queen (The Bohemian Girl), Hansel (Hansel and Gretel), Cornelia (Julius Caesar), and Derabella (Cosi fan tutte). In April, 2007, she sang the role of Mary Magdalene in Waundell Saavedrea's new opera Passion in New York City. Her soloist oratorio performances include Verdi抯 Requiem, HandelMessiah and Mendelssohn抯 Elijah, Mozart抯 Mass in c minor, among others.
Linging is a Graduate of Peabody Coanservatory in the studio of Phyllis Bryn-Julson and received a M.M. in voice from University of Nrbraska-Lincoln where she studied with Prof. Ariel Bybee.
Voice Studio
As a Member of National Association of Teachers of Singing and American Guild of Musical Artists, Lingling teaches in Musical Theater Center in Reckville MD. She was a voice instructor of Concordia University and a voice teaching assistant in School of Music at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She also taught at Lee Wei Song School of Music in Singapore.
